Progressive immersion in the French language and culture is one of the special features of the curriculum. The first-semester (S1) science modules are taught in English on the Brest campus. Over this period, students attend French classes in order to be able to follow studies in this language during the following semesters (S2 & S3). This objective is reached thanks to our experience in teaching French as a foreign language.
Our MSc programmes are internationally recognized throughout the European Higher Education System (Bologna Process). These degrees enable students to pursue their doctoral studies at Telecom Bretagne, or in another university or research institution.
This programme is aimed at graduates with a Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree obtained after 4 years’ higher education in either Electronics and/or Computer Science.
Undergraduates can also apply provided that graduation is expected 2 months before the course starts (visa issuing delay).
This programme is for high-level international students. It has to be underlined that a very good level in mathematics is required (more information in the FAQ section).

When applying, students must provide evidence of proficiency in the English language. This could include:
Due to possible registration delays, it is highly recommended that candidates begin to prepare the English language requirements as soon as possible to facilitate the admission and visa acquisition processes.
A good knowledge of French is not mandatory before arrival in France, but candidates are encouraged to begin learning French in their home countries, before departure (more information in the FAQ section).
Moreover, during the last 3 weeks of August, Telecom Bretagne organizes an intensive French language course accessible to MSc students at no extra cost. Generally around 80 students from all around the world (20+ nationalities) attend this course in a friendly environment. Groups range from beginners to intermediate level. During this period, students can enjoy the summer in Brittany through tourism and by taking part in cultural and sporting activities. It is also possible to make the most of the beach which is located very close to the campus. Every year Telecom Bretagne organizes visits, seaside walking and a sea kayak trip on a river as well as Breton dance lessons.
Standard fees are €10,000 for 24 months. Some costs may be funded by certain French embassies (such as in India), by our "Fondation TELECOM" (up to €14,000) or within the framework of agreements between certain international institutions.
